iWeb Quick Tips & Tricks

What iWeb
Can & Can't Do.

iWeb is a great app for making simple to sometimes even intermediate websites but as always there's limitations...

Watch Out If You
Edit Your HTML Files!

You will lose .mac features such as comments and statistics. There are workarounds to this problem that can be found on iWebFAQ.com so don't stress out over it too much.
iWeb Site Of The Month:

Here is where a featured iWeb site will be listed every month. Sites are chosen as featured because of their individuality and creativity as well as for their attempts in making their sites look like they're not created with iWeb. Sites are chosen from the list of iWeb-created sites listed on iWebFAQ.com/iwebsites so make sure your site is listed if you want to be considered a feature on iWebFAQ.com. The site of the month for January 2009 is StopSuctionEntrapment.com

Statcounter

If you publish to a host other than .mac you lose some features such as comments and web statistics.  Luckily though inserting web stats into your page has never been easier!

Register for an account at Statcounter.com by Clicking Here

After you've created your account login and click on the "Add New Project" link to begin the process of configuring your stat counter.  You can choose to have a visible counter and style it how you'd like or you can choose to have an invisible counter.  you can set up your statcounter to block your IP address from counting hits on your site.  More features are available to explore on Statcounter as well.

After you've configured your counter copy and paste the code Statcounter gives you into an html web snippet in iWeb.  After that you can login to Statcounter.com to view recent hits to your website.
